Plein Air Oil Painting

I drove to Kororoit Creek Jetty in Williamstown this afternoon. Another my favourite place. Always quiet.
I think it got too ‘cold’, needed more warmth.
I spent 3 hours.

Plein Air Oil Painting

I drove to Warneet in Mornington Peninsula this afternoon.
This is my favourite North Jetty. It was a lovely time painting although I think I lost all the ‘darks’.
I spent 3 hours.

Plein Air Oil Painting

I drove to The Centre Ivanhoe this afternoon.
I painted this view many times at different time of a year. Lovely building. Always challenging though.
I’m reasonably happy with this one.
I spent 3 hours.

Oil painting lesson with Gregory Smith

The fourth and final session.
I reworked on the bottle and grapes. So, this is it!
Another year has gone by. So quick. It’s comforting to know that I’ve become a better artist, loving what I do. Compared to the paintings at the beginning of the year, I can definitely see the difference.
I’m looking forward to the next year in the studio.

Plein Air Oil Painting

I drove to Yarra Bend Park in Fairfield this afternoon.
I painted from this spot, but I decided to turn around and paint this view.

It was very challenging in a sense that there’s not much going on. I mean, when I squint my eyes, all details disappeared.

I’m reasonably happy with this one. I spent 2.5 hours.

Oil painting lesson with Gregory Smith

Third session.
After a lecture about “order of painting process and priority”, that was great, I started grapes. Surprisingly they turned out good.
Then I retouched background and table, also a bottle.
It’s getting there.
