Plein Air Oil Painting

So, this is the day 2 painting session with a good friend of mine at The Briars in Mt Martha, Mornington Peninsula.
She suggested we should go a bit further up, and we found this gorgeous location.
I was very intrigued by the tree in the middle, and hey barrels that scattered around on the grass.

I'm happy with this painting.
I think I got overall composition right, and the main tree is just ok.
The trees on the left side are a bit dodgy. Again, I found it really difficult to paint when the space is dominated by rows of trees and nothing else.

This time, I'm happy with hey barrels, particularly the two at the front. And the size of the rest seems ok with their distance.

It really was a fantastic two day painting session with her.
The weather was great, beautiful setting and lovely lunch.

A bliss.

Oil on panel. 16 x 20 in.
