Plein Air Oil Painting

Kate and I went to Yan Yean Reservoir Park, about 45 min drive northeast of Melbourne.

I haven't been there for ten years, and at that time I remember there was little water in the reservoir.

This tree caught my eyes straight way. It has a very unusual twist, and I decided to incorporate it into this painting.
I'm not sure now if that was a good decision as to its composition. I'm reasonably happy with the water, but, I think mountains should be receding back much much more. They all looks too close.

Kate started to paint in oil, and I was very thrilled to watch her creating a beautiful work.
It was a great day painting in the afternoon and a lovely lunch made by her.
