Painting at Mt Pilot in Chiltern

This is the first painting.
We climbed to the top of the mountain, and it offered a spectacular view.

I think I couldn't get the distance right in this painting. Also, the tones of greens are all similar.

I struggled with this one, because it was very difficult to focus on the subject. Its massive scale tended to fool my perception.
However, I really enjoyed painting this. We spent about 2 1/2 hours.

Oil on panel. 10 x 12 in.

Earlier in the day, we went to Woolshed Waterfalls. It's very close to where we're staying, and it's a great place to relax. Not only that, we can get very close to water, so it was very exciting.
