Oil Painting Lesson with Gregory Smith - Day 5

I reworked on the red fabric, spending almost an hour.
I've found it very difficult to render its soft  texture hanging on a table. Its subtle tonal differences are hard to see.
I also worked on the front objects.

Then Greg told me to refine background print a bit. I lightened some highlights on a copper plate and fruits without making them too obvious.

I really enjoyed this project, reminding me of the importance of deciding what order is the priority in the painting.
And how to achieve its goal.

Oil on panel. 16 x 20 in.
