Melbourne Cup Day. Am I supposed to be watching horses!!??
Because of bad weather forecast, I decided to go back to Le Page Homestead in Hawkstowe Park again.
It wasn't bad actually, so, I set up my easel here. It's behind the building, and standing on its steep slope is a bit tricky.

I painted here before without much success. This time, I was very careful measuring angles. I struggled a lot on this one.
I spent 3 hours.

Oil on panel. 16x20in.
After late lunch, dark clouds started to dominate the sky. So I decided to seek a refuge under a shelter, and paint from here.

And suddenly it was raining cats and dogs. It didn't last long, but, I was lucky to be able to avoid getting soaking wet.
Then I saw a beautiful rainbow over a hill. I wish I could have painted that one.
