I asked Greg that I always have a trouble of getting darks right. I mean, shadows.
He did a demo for us, covering a wide area with Light Red and Ivory Black, so that it can easily be manipulated later because it's now wet. The trick is, always keep some warmth, because there's blood under our skin.
Another great tip was, he saw my palette and said it's too thin. He showed me by using a body of paints, we can create much clearer and cleaner painting.
I had to adjust his head shape, creating more depth towards back. I also shifted his left eye to the right.
I'm enjoying this one.
Work in progress.
