Fiona Hall at Heide Museum of Modern Art
I have never heard of this contemporary artist before, but I was very inspired by her passion for environment, women's position in society, endangered species and world peace.
I particularly liked an installation 'Fall Play'.
She created a dozen of animal sculptures that face an extinction in a county, using their military camouflage uniform and other mundane objects.
They're brilliant concepts and beautifully executed.
Other installations and etching works complete this wonderful exhibition.

Renoir - French Film Festival
The film portrays an ageing artist, a new young model, and his son who returned from the war convalescing.
Apart from that basic plot, there's nothing really happens in the film.
It quietly traces almost daily routine in his household. That may be the French style of film-making, and I think it works perfectly.
I really liked the film, probably because of that approach.
Just watching how Renoir goes about his painting itself is fascinating.
It pains me to see him suffering from terrible arthritis.
However, he possessed such an iron will to keep painting, seeing beauty around him.
That's really an inspiring experience.

Cosmos by Carl Sagan
The reason is, I think, the subject matter.
"Why we're here?" "Where did we come from?"
These are profoundly deep and fascinating questions.
Fortunately, modern science can offer the most rational answers to them, emancipating us from irrational ancient mysticism.
Why this series is so successful in capturing our imagination?
I believe that's because of Carl Sagan.
His voice, and the way he speaks to us, is really captivating.
I can't think of anyone better than him as a presenter of science documentaries.
And his prose is just majestic.
I can clearly see how much Richard Dawkins, another favourite of mine, is influenced by his writing.
Well over 13 hours of sheer delight.
