Ólafur Arnalds at Melbourne Recital Centre

It was just brilliant music at this iconic place.

I had read a not so nice review of his performance in Perth, probably due to scorching heat over there.

That must have been really unfortunate because today's gig was nothing short of excellence.

With a beautiful string quartet, his piano and programmed beat created a soaring hight of lyricism in sound making.

His fellow Icelandic singer Arnor Dan came on to the stage half way through, and delivered an awesome vocal performance, with mesmerising visual projection on screen.

Actually he was quite humorous in his small talk between songs.

After a thunderous encore, he kindly came back on stage once more.

When the lights were back on, I was filled with this sense of an enormous exhilaration.

Sad it was finished, but extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to see this very talented musician, sharing wonderful space and time with other audience in this beautiful building.

Here is his YouTube live performance for NPR.
I hope you get some idea why I was so moved by his music.
