Plein Air Oil Painting

Again, the weather was too good to be true, Kate and I went to Williamstown.

We set up our easels near Sailing Club.

I don't think I did a good job today. I can see now a lot of mistakes on perspective.
For example, the road on the right should be the same level as the rest, it looks higher towards the right. Also, water level should be a lot lower.

These are simple mistakes and very easy to see now, but, somehow when I was painting, I didn't notice them. That only means one thing, I wasn't measuring its perspective carefully enough. That's the danger I encounter when I paint buildings etc...

Alas, Kate didn't seem to be happy with her painting either. So, I guess this is one of those days when oil paints don't flow as smoothly as we hope.

However, the glorious weather and delicious ice-cream made the whole experience very special.

Oil on panel. 16 x 20 in.
