The Legacy of Hugh Ramsay Symposium at NGA

My painting teacher and mentor Gregory Smith has a huge respect for Ramsay and his works.
Both of them are from Essendon, Melbourne and one can see how much he admires Ramsay's paintings by the tone of his voice. So much so that Greg created an award for his students under Ramsay's name.
I've been studying his life and works for a while, and I really love his paintings. There's a very good website about him. The link is here.

Unfortunately I've found that there's not much material available about him and I was always frustrated for the lack of opportunity to see his works with my naked eyes.

That has changed a bit since I discovered this lecture series at National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
I wasn't able to attend this one-day symposium, but thankfully the galley put up videos on YouTube.

This series are great educational materials about this highly talented young artist whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 29.
