Plein Air Oil Painting

We went to Fitzroy Gardens this afternoon. This is the east end of the garden and there's a beautiful fountain.

I think this painting needs more depth of field. Trees at the back seem to be too close the front scene.
That shows that I still struggle to see its subtle tonal changes.
Also, there's something wrong with its overall colour scheme.

I love painting in this garden. We're very lucky to have this beautiful and contemplative space within a walking distance from Melbourne CBD.

It was a good day.
