Oil Painting lesson with Gregory Smith

I started today's session by painting background and foreground. It's very interesting to see the whole subjects pop out as the result of that.

Greg kept reminding me that these shells have rounded internal structures. And we need to see that as a subtle change of tone. 

Well, that's a big challenge.  I'm learning a lot.
