Plein Air Oil Painting

In the morning, I drove to Kanesburgh Gardens in North Brighton. This plein air event was organised by Glen Eira Artists’ Society.

Rachel took us around the gardens. I found everybody was very friendly. The garden houses Anzac Hostel, a beautifully maintained mansion.
We were able to go upstairs, and I decided to paint from a veranda.

I really enjoyed this one. It gave me a very interesting viewpoint. And very quiet.
I spent 2.5 hours.

As it got cloudy, I was wondering if I should do another one or not. Everyone else had gone home. Well, it took me 50 min to get here, so, I decided to do it after lunch.

This fountain was irresistible, so I set up my easel here.

Then Phil came and joined me. I’ve never met him before, but, we had a good chat.
Towards the end, it started to rain, but, I was able to finish it.
I spent 2.5 hours.
